BabelVoice Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

BabelVoice's core features run locally on your device. Recordings you create, audio files you import, transcripts, exported files, and model preferences are stored on your device or in local storage provided by the operating system.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not upload your recording content or transcripts for product analytics.

2. Microphone and Speech Recognition Permissions

• Microphone permission is used only to record local audio inside the app.
• Speech recognition permission is used only to transcribe audio into text.
• If you deny these permissions, the related features will not be available, but you may still use other app features that do not depend on those permissions.

3. Local Transcription and Model Downloads

BabelVoice supports Apple on-device speech recognition and local model transcription. Some models must be downloaded to your device before first use. Model downloads retrieve local model files only; BabelVoice does not use other third-party cloud service models or upload your recording content.

Model availability, accuracy, language support, and performance may vary based on device, operating system version, model files, and audio quality.

4. File Storage and Export

Recordings, imported audio, transcripts, and exported TXT, SRT, or VTT files are stored locally by default. You may move or share these files through system file features, share features, or other methods. Once shared, the handling of that data is governed by the policies of the destination app or service.

5. We Do Not Sell Personal Data

We do not sell your personal information, use your recordings or transcripts for advertising profiles, or upload that content for training or analytics.

6. Third-Party Services

The models are downloaded to and run locally on your device. No third-party cloud service models are involved, and no privacy-related data is collected, shared, or processed by third parties.

7. Children's Privacy

BabelVoice does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child's information has been handled improperly, please contact the developer so the issue can be addressed.

We may update this Privacy Policy as product features change. Updated versions will be posted on this page with the latest date.
